3. Why do I need it?

A. There are various reasons why you might need a document apostilled (such as getting married or buying or selling property out of the country).  But the apostille certificate is done so that the foreign country will recognize your document as valid.

4. How long will it take?

A. It usually takes about 7-10 business days but as of December 16, 2022, the State of Florida is currently about a month behind.  Click here to see the current processing times for the State of Florida. So, as you can see the processing times can vary, which is why it is important to get the process started as soon as possible.

5.  Can it be expedited?

A. Most governmental agencies do not offer expedited service for requests mailed or sent in via overnighted delivery services.  For an additional fee, though, our office is able to send a courier to walk-in the request, which might help the process.  While we do the best we can, we cannot guarantee a delivery date.  Again, we encourage you to start the process as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute.
